Boulder opal is opal that occurs within a stone structure but is too small in size or form to isolate from the surrounding stone material. The result is an interesting reveal of the two materials. A lot of boulder opal comes from Queensland, Australia. But by the time it makes it’s way through the supply chain, it could be from anywhere.
