Michael Laweka's standing bear Zuni fetish was carved from mother of pearl, with eyes of turquoise and accents ofcoral dots front and back. It’s a real beauty.
It is signed on the underside with the initials “ML” and “Zuni”.
It was carved in 2004 or earlier and was acquired from the most reputable dealer in Albuquerque in that year.
At 20 years of age at this writing, it is a vintage piece that has never been owned by anyone but dealers.
