Salvador Romero is a pre-eminent carver in Cochiti Pueblo. He scours the pueblo grounds for natural stones that promise to be housing animal spirits.  These stones arrive on the pueblo in flowing rivers and sheet flows from the surrounding snow melt. In Salvador's hands, the inner animal emerges.
