This raven fetish carving is one of Salvador Romero’s latest releases. It was “released” from the stone that held its spirit.

Soon it will find a home in some collector’s “aviary”. It is sleek and dark like the life-size bird it emulates.

The stone was found by Salvador Romero on the ground near his Cochiti Pueblo home. These stones are often washed down from melting snow and transported by spring rains to lower elevations.
