Additional Info

Zuni Puebloans hold corn maidens in high regard. Legend has it that corn maidens came to the aid of the pueblo when witches attempted to make off with the people’s stores of corn, which had been saved to feed the people in winter. By driving off the witches, corn maidens saved the lives of pueblo inhabitants.
